Joining Community Service has positively changed my life and has helped me become a better person. It taught me what kindness, generosity and love really means. Sharing happiness and knowledge with people who are less fortunate has given me a deeper joy and satisfaction. All of the projects and missions CS has accomplished this year are ones we can be extremely proud of. CS has helped me experience how it feels to create smiles and bring happiness to others. I've learned that there's no better feeling than knowing I've made a positive effect on others' life. And to me, that's what life is all about!

I think Community Service Summer English Program is very good and it is very useful for me. It is because this program teaches us English. I am weak in English. So it is very important for us to learn English well. I enjoy attending English classes. All the teachers are good at teaching. So I am making a lot of improvements. I will never forget this program. And please let me stop my letter here. And take good care of yourself. Wish you all the best.

I think your Community Service Summer English Program is very good. I am very gleeful, because of your teaching. Your teachings are very knowledgeable and the games are excellent. Teachers are very good, they are very happy to teach us. My friends are very happy. I love it when you teach about airplanes, because I had never learn about airplanes. If it is teaching time, I feel very happy. All ISM teachers, students, thank you very much for everything.

Summer English Program is very good. I love attending this program. I am very happy. Thank you very much ISM students for teaching me. I want to attend this program again next year. English is an International language. It is written and spoken all over the world. There is no country in the world that does not use English. Therefore, English is the key to success. Thank you.

Community Service has truly made a difference in my life! It has shown me the importance of helping others, animals, and the environment. When I see others smile, it makes me glad. I visited See Sar Yate on October 5th and when we entered the room, smiles lit up like a thousand fireflies. It was a great start to my day! During my recent visit to the orphanage in Dalla, seeing orphans of all age and sizes smile, laugh, and have a great time as well as a terrific start to their holiday made me confident that Community Service was truly making a difference! Community Service is not able to help everyone around the world. But we are able to help. We don't make a humongous difference but we make a little difference and it's all that matters. Because a little difference is better than no difference at all. And CS's motto will live on for generations to come. "Give a little more. Love a little more. A little more from every single person is all we need to make a difference".

See Zar Yate Reflection By: Kyaw Si Thu
Everyone was excited even before we went to the Home for the Aged because of the new people that would be joining us on this trip. We had traveled as a group earlier in the semester and were excited to continue the friendships we had made. Our group was ready to share our smiles, stories and new forms of entertainment we prepared. I was ready for my card trick. We planned for a number of weeks before we went to the Home for the Aged. There was the magic group, the music group, the picture group and the play dough group. We all came together in order to provide an afternoon of joy!
We met here at ISM and traveled to North Dagon Township. The bus trip to the home for the aged was fun. We were talking and laughing. We showed our magic tricks to Mr. Nick and we talked about the S.E.A. games that were being played in Myanmar. Before we even knew it, we arrived at the home for the aged. We were ready to meet the grandpas and grandmas again with our new forms of entertainment. We performed for a while in each session and rotated. The grandmas and grandpas were tricked by our magic tricks. The photo group took a picture of every grandma/grandpa. The play dough group made a toy dough for each grandma. After all the activities, the grandpa’s and grandma’s faces were filled with wide grins. Our hard work paid off.
While we were able to share some of our own stories, we also learned more about the people living in this community. We learned that this place was founded only a few years ago and had a mission to house the poor elderly community who had nowhere else to live. This was a group of and grandmas and grandfathers without a home. The elderly of all religions are welcome here! We also learned later that this is one of the only elderly homes that takes in sick patients. We helped the nursing staff feed everyone and had time to share a snack before it was time to wrap up our activities. We said good bye, promising we would come back soon and return with a photo for each grandparent. On the way back we were all talking about our memories. We cannot wait to return and continue the conversations we have started with our new friends!
