Not a day goes by that I am not proud of all the efforts Community Service students put into making a difference in their community. It's wonderful to watch the community service program at ISM take on a life of its own. There is something unique going on here! I believe it's a combination of living where we live, and the ISM students, many of whom are raised by their parents to have a deep feeling of moral responsibility to not just sit back and allow things to go on as they are. That's what I love about it, we do not sit back and let poverty, poor education, neglected orphans, disabled children, and aged grandmas and grandpas exist without DOING something about it. I feel so fortunate to be a part of this unique, caring, giving, and loving community at ISM!
HS PRESIDENT- KHINE MON
Community Service provided me a reason. A reason to be proud of myself, a reason to believe that I made a change in another's life. Community Service allowed me to see past the luxuries of our lives, to see the real truth beyond our sheltered homes. Community Service has also given me another family, people with whom I work with to make a difference. All of us are sewn with a common thread, a goal to bring smiles and changes into another person's life. Because we believe that together, we can make a change. Because we believe that together, we can make dreams come true.
HS VICE PRESIDENT- YURI NWE
When I first signed up for my school’s Community Service (CS) group as a sixth-grader, I did not know how much impact it would have on my life. Being a part of this group has helped me step out of my comfort zones, interact with people and build friendships that will last for a long time. Through all of these experiences and interactions with people, I learned so much about my country and myself. This group has helped me develop parts of myself I like best – my dedication, passion and empathy for others – and has given me the chance to take on leadership responsibilities. The CS group is my niche; it is how I have made my mark in the world so far.
SECRETARY- YAM YAM
Community Service has given me the chance to express myself, to learn more about my surroundins, and the best of all, to have an enjoyable time with those in need of help. Since those experiences are really important, for me, I thought, "Wy not take the next step?" With this, I got the initative to join the leadership team and got the opportunity to give even more effort than before. Everything that we do in Community Serivce, form teaching English to visiting orphanages, is something that I cherish and want to preserve. It is something that I will always be proud of no matter when and where I am.
TREASURER- THINN THIRI
It's always good to see people happy, especially when i did something great for them. Whenever i see their smiles, it motivates me to help them as much as i can. This is the reason why i've decided to become part of a leadership team in Community Service club. I do not consider Community Service as just an after school club but as a part of my life that is making changes to less fortunate people.
WEB/COMMUNICATION MANAGER- SHWE AUNG
I always wanted to help other in my life and Community Service has given me a chance to do it. Even though I am the Web/Commination Manager I get involved in all the activity. This is my second year in CS and compare to other member I am less experience but I have learn a lot in one year. I learn how to make children smile and how to change their lives. Seeing hundreds and hundreds of kids smiling made me happy because I saw true happiness in them and that is enough to get me through my life. No matter how many long hours I have to stand under the sun to play with them, no matter how much energy I have to use I will keep on making them smile.

RAPHY AND MED IA- NO BE L
Hi! My name is Nobel and I am currently a junior. Now before anything, just because I’m from the media team doesn’t mean I just take photos and videos. I HELP TOO! I technically started my Community Service life during 6th grade. I felt pretty good about what I could do for people who need help. This year, I’ve decided to both help and create memories for people, who want to know what Community Service is about, and myself. I would like to encourage whoever is reading this by telling that even though you are “giving” away “things” to make people happy, you have no idea how much happiness you get back.
ANIMAL SHELTER PRESIDENT-
K ENNIS XU
ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP LEADER- LIN KHANT OO
What started as a small group of three people 3 years ago has turned into a group of 25 with many waiting to get on. Doing environmental community service is different from other community services because you don't see the direct impact: you don't see the Earth smile. But huge invisible impacts we can make if we work together has always been what motivated me to keep going and to take on leadership roles. And I believe that that is also what keeps Environmental Group going.
